Who am I and what is 'Gyaldem Kitchen'?

Gyaldem Kitchen is a celebration of my Jamaican roots and lifelong passion for cooking. In Jamaican Patois, “gyaldem” means “girls.” I first chose the name when I launched my TikTok channel—it represented me, the gyaldem, bringing flavor, culture, and creativity into the kitchen.

I grew up in Spanish Town, Jamaica, where I learned the art of traditional cooking from the women in my family. Their recipes, lovingly passed down through generations, are the heart and soul of Gyaldem Kitchen. At 14, I moved to Canada, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of working as a personal chef for more than seven years. My dream of creating my own spice and sauce company became a reality when I met my husband, and together we built a thriving business that now ships worldwide.

Today, we live and produce all of our products in Red Deer, Alberta, where we grow our own organic garlic, onions, herbs, and hot peppers, using zero pesticides and only natural composts.

Our spice blends and sauces are crafted to honour culture and community. By combining Canadian and Caribbean-grown ingredients, we proudly support local farmers while capturing bold, authentic flavours. Every product is made with care, completely free from anti-caking agents, preservatives, artificial colours, or flavours, so you can enjoy fresh, wholesome, and healthy seasonings that are safe for you and your family.
